BYD Presents New Electric Public Transport

At Busworld 2015 BYD have premièred three new vehicles, an 18m articulated bus, an 8m midibus and most excitingly the world’s first double decker fully electric bus. A 150 passenger 18 metre articulated bus, it was designed and built in just two years to be put into service in London.  The first five will go into service directly after Busworld.  Isbrand Ho, Managing Director of BYD Europe had this to say: “We can now offer operators an emissions free solution for every bus type meaning there can be no reason to further postpone going electric, not tomorrow but today. We have effectively eliminated range anxiety with our ever improving battery technology, we can offer innovative financing packages and we have enhanced our support team in Europe.”
