HS2 Route from West Midlands to Crewe Will Open 6 Years Early (EV News Report)

UK Chancellor George Osborne confirmed today that the high speed rail link connecting the West Midlands to Crewe will open in 2027, six years ahead of schedule. Secretary of State for Wales Stephen Crabb says “This line will act as the gateway to the Northern Powerhouse, which stretches from North Wales to Newcastle, bringing with it new employment and business opportunities.” The route is expected to increase capacity on railways while cutting the total journey time.
