Linde Group Unveil Hydrogen Powered Bike (Electric Car Reports)

The Linde H2 Pedelec is an electric bike which is powered by a small hydrogen fuel cell instead of a traditional battery.  The bike supports assisted pedalling over a range of 100 kilometres with a single, 34-gram cylinder of hydrogen. Due to the design of the small fuel cell it can be recharged in around 6 minutes. Developed over three months the bike will see production as a limited prototype series. Linde hopes that the long range and quick recharging time will provide a viable alternative to the dominance of batteries in the electric bike market.  The group has heavily invested in hydrogen technology having  set up approximately 100 hydrogen fuelling stations in 15 countries and having successfully completed more than one million refuelling operations.
