Nissan to electrify 2018 Sao Paulo Motor Show

Nissan will premiere its news LEAF and Formula E race car

Nissan will electrify the 2018 Sao Paulo International Motor Show with the Latin American premiere of two 100% electric vehicles – the new Nissan LEAF and Nissan’s Formula E race car.

The two models will be among the main attractions on Nissan’s stage during Latin America’s premier auto show, taking place at the Sao Paulo Expo exhibition centre from November 8-18.

The Nissan LEAF – the world’s best-selling electric car – and the Formula E car embody Nissan’s drive for sustainable, zero-emission mobility, part of its Nissan Intelligent Mobility vision.

In addition to the two all-EV, the Nissan booth will feature TV screens and lights powered by “second-life” batteries from the LEAF. The Nissan XMotion Concept crossover and a Nissan X-Trail with a hybrid powertrain will also be among the models on display.

“Our displayed vehicles and attractions show our vision for the present and the future globally and, of course, in Brazil,” said president of Nissan Brazil Marco Silva. “Electrification and Intelligent Mobility have come to stay in Brazil, and we will be at the forefront, with products and services adapted to meet the current and future needs of local consumers.”

Outside the exhibition hall, Nissan will offer visitors a special area to test drive the Nissan LEAF and try the technologies of the Nissan Frontier pickup and the Nissan Kicks.

The new Nissan LEAF is now available through a pre-sale programme in Brazil, Chile and Colombia. Argentina will join the programme in 2019.

“Nissan LEAF sales will start in 2019, but we’re accelerating our sales drive with an innovative pre-sale programme in four markets to meet anticipated demand for it,” said chairman of Nissan Latin America Jose Luis Valls. “Nissan Intelligent Mobility is not only about our product lineup, but also about the way we do business and meet consumer demand.”
