In the wake of the “Dieselgate Scandal” Volkswagen has announced it will shift more towards electrification.

The Volkswagen Brand Board of Management has indicated major changes to the car giant’s strategy going forward.  In addition to major streamlining including a 1 billion euro annual cut in investments it plans to push further development of its Modular Transverse Toolkit (MQB).  This will underpin many of Volkswagen’s future electric models. Furthermore they announced the development of the MEB electric toolkit which in the future will permit and an electric range of 250 to 500 km (155-310 miles).
